The Calavera de Azucar or Sugar Skull was born from the Mexican Day of the Dead. In celebration of the dead, altars are created in remembrance of those who have past. They are decorate with marigolds, sugar skulls (literally edible skulls made of sugar) and other finery's. Now a days sugar skulls are iconic in tattoo art, sadly mostly amongst hipsters.

I don't like it but they're back: the dreaded scrunchie. Just the name makes me shutter. Scrunchie. SCRUNCHIE! Urban's doing it, American Apparel's doing it, you can even find them on the runway. A crumpled up scrap of fabric, left over fabric wrapped around elastic that you wear in your hair. I guess it's cool if you're going green or you're into not being wasteful, but really it's not cool at all. Scrunchies should be banned.

The art of tattoos really took off after WWI when a lot of sailors and soldiers utilized tattoos as a way of remember their loved ones. Then way later down the line tattooing just latched on as the most horrible trend amongst motorcyclists (just vommed a bit in my mouth). Finally over the past couple of years tattoo's have became a huge trend. I'm especially seeing more women with tattoos. Loving it. Tattoos are the new black.

Eat your heart out, I want this trend to never die. Everyone needs at least 5 tattoos.
